Baptistery

Between 493 and 536, Austria belonged to the Ostrogothic Empire. The Ostrogoths were Arians, which means that they did not worship the Triune God; for them, Christ was only consubstantial to God the Father. The Holy Spirit was regarded as the Spirit of Christ. The Catholics who converted to Arianism were baptised once again. The baptismal font in the eastern part of the church was originally surrounded by barriers. The graves of donors were situated in the church as well as in the entrance hall.
