An aerial photograph of Mt. Hemmaberg shows the actual size of an early Christian pilgrimage shrine with churches, pilgrim housings and residential buildings. The shrine of Celtic Godhead Jouenat is supposed to exist on the plateau with the St. Hemma Church.
A model has been drawn to a scale of 1:100 revealing an impressive, early Christian architecture from the time of the migration of peoples by virtue of churches’ structure.
The mosaics originate from the Community Church of Arian Christian community from the Ostrogoths. The mosaics were made for Arian as well as Catholic Christian community in the same workshop.
