Special reverence of the holy martyr and its grave was the cause for a great influx of pilgrims. That is why the grave site in the apse was specially emphasised by the altar, mosaics and the cabinet with curtains. In the nave, there was a bench for priests and originally an altar table for confirmation contribution subsequent to baptism.
